The maps are very good for US, Canada, but some other countries are very bad. If you get off of the route, the software must connect to the internet to re-route. When this happen the voice info is correct, but he map is lost. The topo info is nice if you are a hiker.

I been in 20 countries, and find my around in all of them. I have a memory problem and the color pots help me Mark my Hotel because I forget were it is. Thank you for the great app. This is my first and last review. Can you put the places of interest on the map please. I walk a lot and dont like the hop on and off bus. Points of interest please. Absolutely phenomenal app I never write reviews however I could not resist writing a review for this app it is that good after 23 years in the United States Marine Corps many many apps I rate this is the number one app I might go to app for everything great job guys keep it up.

You have to pay another 4.99 for topo. Then you dont get a true topo map, only contours. None of the other details. Im disappointed that water bodies and rivers and public access are scarcely labeled, even in boating mode. The off-line map feature appears to work well.

If only there was a simple turn by turn function and traffic updates and Apple Watch app then I would give it 5 stars. Maybe think about adding fitness data!

I am headed to Papua New Guinea soon. I cannot believe I found an app that uses my Bad Elf GPS and offers a locally stored map of PNG! What more could I want?

A brilliant app, must have for every traveller and every hiker! Detailed contour lines and hiking trails are awesome! Recently used it while trekking in Nepal and for cross Asia travel. How did I ever live without it!

No where else have I found accurate, up-to-date maps of rural western Uganda! The Travel Guides are great and have information that is useful and that I havent seen elsewhere, also accurate! All the ways to customize markers on the maps, plan, everything is just so darn practical, simplistic in design, and therefore highly functional. I cant speak for the way off road, away from civilization areas other than where I have traveled, but this app has been as close to spot on as can be! I have gleaned more from this App than days of searching on my own. Thanks App Maker!

5.00 for topo maps your retarded!

This is one of the best apps ever! So glad I found it. Easy to use, with lots of features.

I spent 100$ for a hotel, they gave me no wifi good cable and when I asked for places to eat and they said that there was only Hearties and Apple bees so I went to Apple Bees. Later that day when Im going to go swim the pool is closed and then when I go to the pharmacy I see An Arby, Culvers and a bunch more! Im like 0 star hotel (NEVER STAY IN HAMPTON INN)

The best app indubitably!

This is an all around great gps app for road trips and hiking. Ive tried all half a dozen gps apps and this is definitely the best, or at least comparable to Gaia. I particularly like they they include most hiking trails. Great for back country hiking.

I have used extensively in Europe and it has never failed me. The GPS when youre not online is invaluable. Cant say enough good stuff about this app. BTW I have the Pocket Earth pro. Totally worth it!

For the most part, awesome app. Feature rich and accurate. It however needs one improvement. That is THE ABILITY TO ENTER WAYPOINTS BY ENTERING THE Lat-Long COORDINATES!! i.e.; You have a waypoint stored in your handheld GPS. You want to make that waypoint in Pocket Earth. As it stands now, you can only long press on the map again, again, again and again trying to narrow down the location as accurately as possible. The ability to enter the numbers will go a long way at improving this app.

Pocket Earth is great. The capacity to download waypoints and plot a route offline is phenomenal. On the recommendation of a seasoned user, I have tracked my walking route from Canterbury to Rome and am confident of every step of the way.

Topographic map needs to be higher resolution than 50. That isnt very helpful for most uses. It took me 20 minutes to figure out how to view topos on the app. Need more elevation labels on contour lines. Some areas its hard to tell whether to subtract 50 or add 50

I went through several map and GPS apps, including Google, to find a specific spot on a caliche rock, ranch road, in the middle of nowhere Texas. With this app I could find a detailed view of the area and tiny roads, mark and label multiple spots, and get directions to anywhere on the screen, and mark way points. There was no learning curve. Theres more but I havent gotten past my amazement and relief. I seriously need a real map - with real features or risk being lost in Texas on dusty caliche rock roads for hours. If the other apps even had just the (gravel) road I needed to find in any view at all - you had to zoom waaaay in for the road to show up. And there were no details at all. Nothing visible but a thin line and nothing around it. Zoom out to find a rare intersecting road and the roads disappear. Useless. And then I couldnt mark anything. Directions? No. Just Stellar! Is all I can say. And big thanks.

Ive tried all sorts of apps for importing and exporting GPX files and this is the best Ive found. You can tweak the GPS settings to max battery life, which is rare for a free app. It can quickly find distance between two points. Great for recording and finding hiking/biking trails.
